NON-PROFIT ENGAGEMENTS
Still Harbor seeks facilitation and program development opportunities with organizations that have prioritized staff reflection and discernment as necessary to performance, retention, and success. We believe that in addition to intellectual and professional development, the interior formation of staff and service providers is of utmost importance to the sustainability and success of any social intervention.

Does Still Harbor work with any non-profit organization?
Still Harbor is a social justice organization deeply concerned with developing human capacity in non-profits seeking to be of service in an unequal world. With this orientation, we seek out partnerships with organizations that have prioritized or made a commitment to developing their staff and/or constituents' life-long capacity to serve and to lead in the work of social justice.

What is Still Harbor's approach to designing a program or retreat?
Operating based on a core framework that targets the interior formation of individuals and organizations, Still Harbor strives to reach each organization's unique needs with tailored or customized programs. Before deciding on what kind of program we might develop for an organization, we typically begin with a conversation about the following core questions of service and how they relate to the organization and its staff or constituents:

  1. How do I/we find my/our calling to service?
  2. How do I/we develop the capacity to serve first and lead second?
  3. How do I/we sustain myself/ourselves in my/our service work?

Together, we then evaluate the appropriate programmatic focus (mission orientation, purpose, calling, collaboration, service leadership, self-care and resiliency, etc.) and mechanisms (individual accompaniment, small group weekly facilitated series, single or multi-day retreat, or peer facilitation training, etc.) to address the specific organizational structure, culture, and needs.

NON-PROFIT ENGAGEMENT IN ACTION
Global Health Corps Fellows Training Program
Still Harbor provides the Global Health Corps Fellows with facilitated retreat and training activities on reflection and service leadership throughout the year. The program has developed over the past two years into what will eventually become a full curriculum of customized activity design and facilitation guidelines implemented collaboratively in a series of sessions throughout Global Health Corps' initial two week training program, check-in calls, mid-year retreats, and closing one week program.

GlobeMed Global Health Summit
Still Harbor designed three custom sessions so that GlobeMed can provide Summit attendees with small group activities that encourage the development of core reflection skills and that deepen an understanding of how to apply discernment to action. At the April 2011 Summit, Still Harbor will provide a concise and tailored facilitation training for the peer facilitators of the sessions as well as feedback and support for the peer facilitators throughout the Summit weekend.
